Where should we take our pictures?

Newborn photos are almost always taken at your home (in baby’s nursery). My favorite locations for outdoor shoots include Crump Park and the VMFA, but I will send you several suggestions based on your session preferences! Please note travel fees may apply if outside of Richmond.

For newborn sessions, do you bring any props?

For every newborn shoot, I bring a basket, neutral newborn wraps and a few large blankets for backgrounds. Other than that, I use whatever you have in your nursery/home!

What should I/we wear?

For newborn shoots, light solid colors always photograph best! Dark colors reflect onto babies face casting shadows. Think whites, light tans, light pinks and blue, etc. Questions? Feel free to send me photos! I always advise that solids or pieces with less pattern photograph better. Flashy or heavily patterned outfits tend to be the first and only thing you see when looking at photos. For family shoots, I think choosing a basic color palette and going from there is best. In spring, pastels such as light blues and pinks go well together, whereas in Fall, maroons, teals, and browns look great. I would choose one "main piece", (i.e a floral dress) and then pull colors from the piece for the other outfits. I would be happy to look at your outfits in advance and give you any suggestions.

Can we include our dog/cat?

Yes! Absolutely!

Does the session fee include all images?

Yes! The session fee includes access to all high-resolution photos ready to be downloaded, printed, shared, framed, etc.
